Bad Brains, All Over the West
I have proof. The tumultous love-hate polarities that continue to haunt the legendary Bad Brains, forebears of punk titans from Fugazi to Fishbone to Rollins and onward, have settled down enough to resolve into a productive streak, including their forthcoming proper studio album in years. What about the tumult? Anyone who knows anything about punk will tell you that's just how the gene is sequenced. Turbulence is part of the packaging.
But enough of the haughty introductions, why not see the proto-hardcore pioneers on the big screen for yourself? For zip, nada, null, I might add. Not fucking bad. Those with retro emolectropop fascinations must learn.
Here's the deal. Morphizm pals Music Video Distributors are screening Bad Brains: Live CBGB 1982 across the west coast for absolutely free, so if whether you're a Fugazi, Fishbone or Rollins nut, that's a date night right there. And if you're a popcult know-it-all, then you should feel right at home with the history lesson. Here's the sched:
