It is a sad time for those who would rather not see the food chain break down altogether. But shit happens, as Rumsfeld is wont to say. So does extinction:

Meanwhile, as our smartass contributor Tom McNichol told me this morning, there is one reason not to be upset: "On the plus side, the complete elimination of fish from the world's oceans will have absolutely no effect on Red Lobster."
