Kobe Throws in the Towel
It's not hard to tell that I can't stand Kobe Bryant. My website has published article after article calling him out as a selfish fool who thinks he should just be handed everything without actually having to work for anything. And this comes from a lifetime Laker fan, who grew up in SoCal fed on a steady diet of Showtime.
And the Lakers may be many things since Kobe Bryant got Shaq booted off the team so he could be The Man, but they are not Showtime.
So it's nice to see Kobe finally cut and run from the Lakers, and act as if their continuing incompetence had nothing to do with him. Who else's fault is it? The GM? Please. He emptied his bucket just signing Kobe to a lengthy contract, and dishing Shaq off to Miami as a nice little present. Too many superstars, after all, means too few shots for Bryant.
Who else is to blame? The owner? Yeah right. He's had winners play for him 90 percent of the time. And Kobe, like I said, is many things but he is no winner.
Leaders take bullets. They don't dish them out. The Lakers were Kobe's team. The fact that they sucked and didn't play like a team is his fault. Period. It's called leadership. A leader is only as good as his team, and if his team sucks, then it's usually because its leader does too.
So, have fun going somewhere else Kobe. You made it possible for me to finally come back to my Lakers, without the stench of losers upon it. Not losing, mind you. That I can handle once in a while.
The losers? I can't handle them at all.
