Adrian Tomine Snarks L.A., Nov. 3
[I'm tired and remote today, so I'm repurposing myself. The short version? Comics up-and-comer Adrian Tomine is stopping off in Los Angeles at Skylight Books on Nov. 3 to talk about his recently acclaimed release Shortcomings. Here is a panel of that comic, and a spiel on him I wrote for Wired. Don't miss it. -- ST]

I'm not the only one singing the praises of Adrian Tomine, an Asian-American artist quickly becoming the Harvey Pekar of Generation Xbox. Author Jonathan Lethem, The New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly and others have also heaped on accolades...If you need a chaser, you could do worse than this sneak-peek panel from Shortcomings, which is likely to be Tomine's entry to Art Spiegelman-like fame.
