Post Up! Large Paranoia Collider!

Well, today is the day, my friends. The Large Hadron Collider goes online, and the greatest particle collisions on Earth will soon be studied by CERN scientists, or bring forth the apocalypse. That all depends on what side of the divide you stand on, of course, and whether or not you’re a fan of untested theoretical physics. Either way, I created a soundtrack for the end of the world on Wired. Listen in.

Soundtrack: Large Paranoia Collider!
The Large Hardron Collider’s science is killer, but its remotely possible scenarios are scarier. Earth could experience everything from black holes run amok to unleashed strange matter. I hear that stuff is hard to get back into Pandora’s Box once it’s out.

But that’s evolution for you. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

I suppose we’ll find out soon enough whether the Large Hadron Collider will boot up the apocalypse. In the meantime, you can loop this LHC-inspired playlist featuring the doomsday sonics of Pixies, Bad Religion, Muse, Parliament and more. It’s a pretty loud homage, but the end times has a way of making that happen. MORE @ WIRED
