Cataclysmic surveillance dystopias are dominating the news cycle. So of course Marvel Comics took Watcher, their age-old galactic voyeur, and mysteriously killed him off.
The result is a deliberate homage — or rip-off, depending on your scruples — of DC Comics’ immortal Watchmen, from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.
